JAMTECH will be on April 22nd at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in Alexandria, VA!
– The Premier Build a Game in a Day Event –
JAMTECH provides middle and high school students in the Northern VA and DC Metro area a chance to work with professional programmers and digital artists to design and build a video game in one day using the Unity game engine.
Tickets are $22 for early regisrations through December 31, 2016 (plus taxes and fees) for JAMTECH. As of January 1, 2017, tickets are $24.50 plus taxes and fees. This covers a small breakfast, lunch, snacks, beverages, T-shirt, and more! Some tickets may be available at the door. If so, those tickets will be $28 plus taxes and fees.
LAPTOPS: students must bring a laptop. There are no laptops available to rent. Please also remember your power cord and a mouse if you want one.
The laptop must either be a PC or Mac (Chromebooks and tablets will not work). Also, due to an issue with OS X (Mac), you must either make sure the student has administrator access at JAMTECH or fix the Unity permission issue in advance. Information will be sent to registrants before JAMTECH on how to fix this problem.
**IMPORTANT** This is the registration for the regular JAMTECH event, which is designed for middle and high school students and REQUIRES you to install software on a laptop that you MUST bring to JAMTECH. This registration does NOT register you for the Boolean Girl workshop at JAMTECH, which is a separate event and requires a separate registration. The Boolean Girl workshop is for elementary school girls and does not require you to bring a laptop.
